Card Inspiration

I just wanted to share this new blog I found, chock full of card inspiration!

New Cards

When I'm trying to get my creative juices flowing, I tend to have much more luck with cards than layouts. So, I can usually tell by my card production how well my mojo is flowin!

I've Been Busy...

I know, everyone says that. But truly, I have. See, soon after my last post in October, I made a life-changing decision to begin homeschooling my girls, Alana 8 and Erin 6. I spent the entire month of November pouring over dozens of books on homeschooling. I now consider myself something of an expert. :) Or, at least in theory! For two months, I ate, dreamt, and thought about nothing but homeschooling...except for Christmas prep and events, of course. And yes, that means no scrapping either.

We began our homeschooling journey on Jan. 2 (for which I started a separate blog) and I quickly came to terms with my needs as a woman...my need for alone time...my need for creative expression. So, as we work through a new life style and daily schedule, I'm trying desparately to get back into my creative mode.

Here's what I've produced over the last couple of weeks...rusty, yes, but productive, nonetheless!

My most recent pages...

know what i mean???

Why such a dumb title? Well....my dear husband makes fun of me, because, according to him, I end all of my sentences with "know what I mean?" So, just for fun, and to annoy him (and because every other title on the planet is already being used in the blogasphere) that's my title. Aren't you glad you asked?

I've finally gone and done it...created a blog. Why now? Well, actually, this is my 3rd blog. My first was a New Year's Resolution for 2007. But I wanted it to be a private journal, so that I could say what I felt, without worring about being PC or hurting feelings. I lasted a couple of months with that, btw. Then I created a blog for my custom scrapping & cardmaking business. http://melissakay-designs.blogspot.com/ Of course, having a business degree and being somewhat intelligent, I realize you actually have to work a business to have a business. But this was just a place to begin, in case, some day, I had the time to devote to the business.

Which brings me to blog #3. Why now? No idea. I guess I just felt called to do it. And yes, when I say "called" I do mean by Him, God. Now wait, don't go run away just yet. Yes, I am a Christian...a "born-again" one at that. And yes, I may use this format to witness for Him and share my opinion. But if you ask my friends & family, they (hopefully) will tell you that although I am a Believer, I am not one to get in your face.

I'm still going into this skeptically. I mean, who really cares about what I have to say? I'm no one of importance. I don't ooze wisdom or leave creative fairy dust in my path. Regardless, I guess I'll just say what I want to say. At least it's a place where family and friends can visit to catch up on my life.

Did I mention I babble a bit??? If you've made it this far, you're a trooper for sure! Thanks for sticking around and gracing me with a bit of your precious time!
